How do I download articles from the library's databases?
The library’s databases provide options to limit your search to Full Text, which means that the article can be downloaded from the database. For this example, we’ll use the library’s search engines, but the other databases will have similar options. Click on the images to view a full-sized version.
If you’re using Global Search:
- Enter your search terms and click Search.
- Under Refine Results, check the box next to Full Text.
- You can download articles by clicking on:
- PDF Full Text: This will open as a PDF.
- HTML Full Text: This will look like a webpage.
- View Record In: This will link to a website where the article can be downloaded.
- Full Text Finder: This means that the article is available to download from another library database.
To access options for downloading full text articles:
- Click on the article link. This will take you to the Detailed Record page where you will find download options on the left and other retrieval tools on the right.
- Depending on the options available, you’ll be taken to a PDF, HTML page, or the Full Text Finder.
- Depending on your selection, you’ll be presented with an option to download the article directly to your device, print a physical or PDF copy of the article, email the link, save it to your Google Drive account, or a folder within the database.
You can also access these options directly from the search results page by clicking on the PDF Full Text, Full Text Finder, HTML Full Text, or View Record In….
