Can I use ChatGPT, Bard, or other AI software to write my papers?
Use of ChatGPT, Bard, and similar artificial intelligence (AI) software to complete any project or paper at the university without the express permission or direction of your professor is considered cheating and could result in severe disciplinary sanctions. Work created by AI is often easy for experienced faculty to detect. DO NOT take a chance - submit your original work using the principles of Academic Integrity.
For more information about how AI tools work, what its limitations, are, and tips for writing ethically, read the library's Artificial Intelligence Guide for Students. (If you are faculty, read the Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) Resource Guide for Faculty.)

Answer
According the University's Academic Integrity Policy: "Submitting to faculty work completed by the use of any artificial intelligence tool without permission and/or when prohibited by class policy. When faculty require the use of technology, including artificial intelligence, as a part of an assignment for the course, there is no violation. Students are reminded to consult syllabi, assignment sheets/rubrics, program documents and their faculty. Use of artificial intelligence, when permitted, must be correctly cited in the assignment."
